Book Recommendations
Acupuncture: Energy Balancing for Body, Mind and Spirit (Health Essentials) by Peter Mole
A concise and easy to read explanation of the basics of acupuncture if you want to know more without being overloaded. It's an older book, but still can be found online.
Traditional Acupuncture: The Law of the Five Elements by Dianne Connelly
Explanation of the Five Element model by one of the earliest American practitioners. Can be helpful in 'connecting the dots' of your own experience/illness.
Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats by Sally Fallon.
While it is not written from the perspective of Chinese medicine, I often use many of the ideas presented in this book as a starting point in my thoughts on nutrition. I then add in the unique orientation that Asian food traditions have that compliment the ideas in this book.
The Garden of Fertility: A Guide to Charting Your Fertility Signals to Prevent or Achieve Pregnancy--Naturally--and to Gauge Your Reproductive Health by Katie Singer
Good book on fertility with accessible information on charting. She touches on acupuncture, nutrition and environmental concerns related to fertility.
